Almshouses


Long Alley - built in 1446 for 13 elderly people by the Fraternity of the Holy Cross, one of the two medieval guilds of St. Helen’s Church. Twitty’s - founded by Charles Twitty who died in 1706. Brick Alley - erected in 1718 for 18 people. 

Christ's Hospital Hall

10:00am - 5:00pm

A panelled meeting hall, lined with interesting portraits and containing a Jacobean oak table. The hall is part of the medieval Almshouses.
